【防御と有効打撃を重視する競技評価の基本理念】

質の高い競技者とは、打撃を多く出す者や、打たれても耐える者ではない。
相手の攻撃を制御し、被弾を最小限に抑えた上で、有効な打撃を適切な局面で用いる者である。
そのため、質の高い競技者は高い防御技能を備えている。
また、その防御技能を競技の中で成立させるためには、どの打撃が有効であり、どの打撃が無効であるかを正しく認識する能力が不可欠である。
顔面攻撃を禁止し、打たせ合いを許容する競技環境では、被弾を我慢する行為が評価されやすくなり、防御技能が育ちにくくなる。
このような環境においては、完成度の高い一本勝ちは生まれにくい。
質の高い一本勝ちとは、防御を基盤として試合の主導権を掌握し、最適な機会に有効打撃を決定した結果である。ゆえに、競技の判定および指導においては、打撃量や耐久性ではなく、防御技能と有効打撃を見極める識を評価の中心に据えるべきである。

Fundamental Principles of Competition Evaluation Centered on Defense and Effective Striking
A high-quality competitor is not one who merely delivers many strikes or endures being hit.
Rather, a high-quality competitor is one who controls the opponent’s attacks, minimizes damage, and applies effective strikes at appropriate moments.
For this reason, a high-quality competitor possesses a high level of defensive skill.
Furthermore, in order for defensive skill to be realized in actual competition, the ability to correctly recognize which strikes are effective and which are not is indispensable.
In competition environments where facial attacks are prohibited and mutual exchanges of strikes are permitted,
enduring blows tends to be rewarded, and the development of defensive skill is hindered.
Under such conditions, high-quality decisive victories are unlikely to occur.
A high-quality decisive victory is the result of controlling the flow of the bout through defense
and delivering an effective strike at the most appropriate opportunity.
Therefore, in judging and instruction,
evaluation should be centered not on the quantity of strikes or physical endurance,
but on defensive skill and the discernment of effective striking.

質の高い競技者とは、高度な防御技能を備えた者である。
しかし、その高度な防御技能は、相手による質の高い有効打撃を正確に認識できてはじめて、実質的に成立する。
ゆえに、質の高い競技者は、質の高い有効打撃を正確に認識する能力を有しているといえる。
さらに、質の高い有効打撃を認識する能力は、競技経験の蓄積に裏打ちされたものであり、質の高い競技者であることを示す強力な指標であるという経験則が存在する。
したがって、競技判定および武道における教育的価値を構想するにあたり、質の高い有効打撃を認識する能力を中心的概念として位置づけることは、論理的に見て合理性を有する。

A high-level competitor is one who possesses advanced defensive skills.
However, such advanced defensive skills can only function in a substantive manner when the competitor is capable of accurately recognizing high-quality effective strikes delivered by the opponent.
Therefore, a high-level competitor can be said to possess the ability to accurately recognize high-quality effective strikes.
Furthermore, the ability to recognize high-quality effective strikes is grounded in accumulated competitive experience and, as an empirical rule, serves as a strong indicator of a competitor’s high level of skill.
Accordingly, when conceptualizing both competitive judgment and the educational value of martial arts, positioning the ability to recognize high-quality effective strikes as a central concept is logically justified and reasonable.

顔面攻撃なしのルール下において、打たれ合いを中心とする競技構造は、打撃ダメージを我慢する傾向を生みやすい。
この我慢の偏向は、防御技能の貧困化を招く。
防御技能が貧困化した状況においては、質の高い一本（KO）は成立しない。
したがって、顔面攻撃なしのルール下で、打たれ合い中心の競技構造を許容する限り、質の高い一本（KO）は生まれにくい。
また、質の高い一本（KO）は、高度な防御技能を保持する競技者同士の間から生まれる。
ゆえに、競技の教育的価値および技能的価値を確立するためには、防御技能と有効打撃の認識を中核に据えた評価設計が不可欠である。

Under rules that prohibit facial attacks, a competition structure centered on mutual striking tends to foster a bias toward enduring striking damage.
This endurance bias leads to the impoverishment of defensive skills.
In conditions where defensive skills are impoverished, high-quality decisive victories (IPPON /KO) do not emerge.
Therefore, as long as a mutual-striking-centered competition structure is permitted under no-face-attack rules, the emergence of high-quality decisive victories (KO) becomes unlikely.
Moreover, high-quality decisive victories (IPPON/KO) arise between competitors who maintain advanced defensive skills.
Thus, in order to establish the educational and technical value of competition, an evaluation framework centered on defensive skills and the recognition of effective strikes is required.
