IBMA極真会館増田道場の競技に対する考え方 / IBMA Kyokushinkaikan Masuda Dojo’s approach to competition
IBMA極真会館増田道場は、IBMA KYOKUSHINKAIの理念を体現し、その目的を達成するために「競技」を基盤としています。しかしながら、私たちが志向する競技の意義は、単なる勝敗を超えたところにあります。私たちが目指すものは、勝ち負けを超克して生まれる「価値」の創出にほかなりません。
その究極の目的とは、「人生を通じた人格の陶冶」であります。
人は誰しも、失敗や挫折を避けることはできません。
しかし、それらを糧とし成長の契機とするとき、人間の人格は鍛えられ、やがて自己の幸福のみならず、他者の幸福をも希求する境地に至ります。
私たちの競技は、一見すると相手を傷つける行為に映るかもしれません。
けれども本質は、人を損なうことではなく、人を生かし、同時に自己を高める道を追求することにあります。
これこそが、IBMA KYOKUSHINKAIが掲げる「武道人（BudoMan）」の在り方なのです。
さらに、勝敗を超えて創造される「価値」とは、卓越した技術と、それに宿る美意識とによって生まれる「共感」です。
格闘技の世界にのみ結晶するこの「技と美意識」を人々が理解し、共に追求するとき、多様な背景をもつ人間同士が結び合い、感情的な対立や分断を和らげることが可能となるのです。

The IBMA Kyokushin Kaikan Masuda Dojo embodies the ideals of IBMA KYOKUSHINKAI, establishing “competition” as the foundation for realizing its purpose.
Yet, the true significance of our competition lies beyond mere victory or defeat.
What we ultimately pursue is nothing less than the creation of “value” born from transcending the outcomes of winning and losing.
That ultimate purpose is the “cultivation of character through the course of life.”
No one can avoid failure or setback.
Yet, when such trials are embraced as nourishment and as opportunities for growth, human character is refined, guiding us to seek not only our own happiness but also the happiness of others.
At first glance, our competitions may appear as acts that inflict harm upon others.
But their essence does not lie in diminishing or injuring others; rather, it lies in affirming life, while pursuing a path of self-elevation.
This is the very way of the “BudoMan” upheld by IBMA KYOKUSHINKAI.
Furthermore, the “value” created beyond victory and defeat is “empathy,” born of technical excellence and the aesthetic sensibility that accompanies it.
When this union of “skill and aesthetic consciousness,” crystallized uniquely in the world of martial competition, is understood and pursued together, people of diverse backgrounds are bound in unity, enabling the softening of emotional conflicts and the healing of divisions.
