Respecting Independence, Building the Future Together
IBMA Kyokushin Kai respects the history, spirit, techniques and training systems of Kyokushin Karate and seeks to preserve them for future generations.
At the same time, we work together with affiliated organizations, dojos and instructors to study and develop the future value of Kyokushin Karate.
Affiliation does not mean integrating each organization or dojo into a single centralized structure.
Nor does it require changes to existing names, history, leadership, teaching policies, training methods, kyu and dan rank systems, membership systems or methods of operation.
IBMA Kyokushin Kai respects the independence and identity of each organization and dojo while encouraging cooperation in preserving and developing Kyokushin Karate, research, instructor development, safety, international exchange and transmission to future generations.
As a general principle, IBMA Kyokushin Kai does not adopt the conventional centralized “Headquarters–Branch” structure.
The principal organizational categories are
Headquarters Dojos,
Affiliated Organizations, and
Affiliated Dojos.
Organizational Categories
Headquarters Dojo
A dojo directly operated or managed by IBMA Kyokushin Kai headquarters.
Affiliated Organization
An independent organization with its own leadership, history, structure and operational policies that has completed the required affiliation review and provisional affiliation period.
Affiliated Dojo
An independently operated dojo or training base that has completed the required affiliation review and provisional affiliation period.
Affiliated organizations and dojos are not branches.
Affiliation does not make an organization or dojo a subordinate organization, branch or local chapter of IBMA Kyokushin Kai headquarters or Masuda Dojo.
Each affiliated organization remains independently operated.
Independence of Affiliated Organizations and Dojos
IBMA Kyokushin Kai respects the history and systems developed by each affiliated organization and dojo.

Affiliation does not require these systems to be replaced by those of IBMA Kyokushin Kai or Masuda Dojo.
Kyu and Dan Rank Systems
Affiliated organizations and dojos that already operate their own kyu and dan rank systems are not required to change them as a condition of affiliation.
Their established history and systems are respected.

Based in Iran, the organization is engaged in Kyokushin Karate and budo instruction, promotion and international exchange with IBMA Kyokushin Kai.
Regional Relationship Between Headquarters Dojos and Affiliated Organizations
Affiliation does not grant exclusive or monopolistic rights within any municipality, prefecture, region or country.
IBMA Kyokushin Kai headquarters may in the future establish a headquarters dojo or another activity base in a region where an affiliated organization or dojo is already active.
Applications from other organizations or dojos in the same or nearby area may also be considered.
At the same time, IBMA Kyokushin Kai places great importance on trust with existing affiliated organizations and dojos.
If a headquarters dojo or other activity base is planned in the same or nearby area,
or if accepting another affiliate is expected to materially affect an existing affiliated organization or dojo,
IBMA Kyokushin Kai will, in principle, provide prior explanation and engage in appropriate consultation.
Regional cooperation, not territorial exclusivity.
Prior consultation does not grant existing affiliates exclusive territorial rights or a right of veto.
Its purpose is to preserve mutual trust, avoid unnecessary conflict or misunderstanding, and encourage constructive cooperation.
From Application to Formal Affiliation
Affiliation is not automatically approved upon submission of an application.
Organizations and dojos considered appropriate after review will normally enter a one-year provisional affiliation period.
The provisional affiliation period is not intended as a one-sided evaluation.
It allows both parties to deepen mutual understanding through actual activities and communication and to determine whether a long-term cooperative relationship can be established.
At the end of the provisional period,
activities, compliance with relevant rules and the state of cooperation will be reviewed.
If appropriate, formal affiliation will be approved.
The provisional affiliation period may be extended for one additional year where necessary.
Cross-Training and Exchange Training
Rules concerning cross-training, exchange training and visits between affiliated organizations and dojos will be established separately.
Affiliation alone does not automatically grant the right to train at another affiliated organization or dojo.
