IBMA Kyokushin Kai Affiliation Application
This page is for formal applications for affiliation with IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI.
If you have questions about the affiliation categories or requirements,
please use the Affiliation Inquiry page before applying.
Preliminary consultation is optional.
IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI respects the independence of each organization and dojo. Affiliation does not require an organization to adopt the Masuda Dojo system.
Each organization’s history, name, and instructional policies are respected. Cooperation is based on shared principles concerning safety, ethics, research, and exchange.
Please Review Before Applying
Please review the Affiliation Guide and Affiliation Regulations before submitting your application. The Regulations govern the formal requirements for affiliation.
Affiliation Categories
Affiliated Organization
This category is intended for organizations with multiple dojos or training locations. Organizations with an established administrative structure may also apply.
An Affiliated Organization shall, in principle, have at least 5 IBMA General Members and at least 1 IBMA Regular Member.
Affiliated Dojo
This category is based on a single dojo or training location. Smaller or newly established dojos may also apply.
An Affiliated Dojo shall, in principle, have at least 5 IBMA General Members. An IBMA Regular Member is not mandatory for an Affiliated Dojo.
There is no superior-subordinate relationship between the two categories. Classification is based on organizational structure and activities.
Certified Instructors
An Affiliated Organization or Affiliated Dojo should, in principle, have at least one Certified Instructor. Holding this qualification at the time of application is not mandatory.
If no Certified Instructor is currently available, development or placement may proceed after affiliation. As a general guideline, this should be completed within two years.
Dan Ranks and Independent Rank Systems
An IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI Certified Dan Rank is not a mandatory requirement for affiliation. Existing independent rank systems are respected.
Independent dan ranks and IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI Certified Dan Ranks are separate systems. Affiliation alone does not grant authority to award dan ranks in the name of IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI.
