Version: October 2, 2026
The eligibility requirements, fees, procedures,
and other conditions are defined in the Regulations.
Please review them before applying for the Program.
Preamble
IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI respects the autonomy of its affiliated organizations and dojos.
Headquarters does not replace the regular instruction provided by each organization.
The Program supplements learning opportunities and supports the development of members.
These Regulations establish the Online Guidance Program for that purpose.
The Program is distinct from a general online karate school for the public.
Its purpose is to strengthen education throughout the affiliated network.
Article 1 — Purpose
The Program supports the continuous development of affiliated members.
It also provides learning opportunities for members in remote locations.
The Program may also be used to develop instructors and advanced practitioners.
Article 2 — Name and Position of the Program
The overall system shall be called the Online Guidance Program.
Its individual instruction component shall provide personalized online guidance.
The English name of the system is the Online Guidance Program.
The Program is an educational support system associated with affiliation.
Affiliation alone does not automatically create eligibility to participate.
Participation requires review and approval by Headquarters.
Article 3 — Eligible Participants
As a general rule, the Program is for members of affiliated organizations and dojos.
The participant’s objectives and developmental needs shall be reviewed.
The participant’s instructor may also be consulted when necessary.
Applications should normally be made through the participant’s organization or dojo.
Exceptions may be allowed where special circumstances exist.
Headquarters shall determine such exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
Article 4 — Basic Principles
- Respect the history and training system of each affiliated organization and dojo.
- Do not require all organizations to adopt the training methods of Headquarters.
- Base instruction on safety, ethics, and mutual respect.
- Encourage learning that does not depend only on online instruction.
- Do not operate the Program as a general correspondence karate school for the public.

The system seeks to balance participant costs with the instructor’s workload.
Article 6 — Headquarters-Sponsored Joint Online Seminars
Headquarters shall determine the theme and schedule of each seminar.
Participation shall generally be free of charge.
These seminars form part of the shared educational activities of the affiliation system.
Topics may include techniques, kata, kumite, and Riho.
Instructor development, safety management, and Budo ethics may also be covered.
Program explanations and exchange meetings may also be conducted.
Actual costs may be charged when an outside instructor is invited.
Free seminars shall primarily address subjects of common interest.
Detailed individual instruction is not their main purpose.
Article 7 — Individual Online Guidance
Individual Online Guidance is provided to one participant.
The standard duration is 60 minutes.
The participant’s individual issues shall be examined in detail.

Specific countries and regions shall be listed separately.
Regional classifications may be revised when necessary.
Classification shall not be determined by income level alone.
Cost of living, exchange rates, and local circumstances shall also be considered.
Article 11 — Headquarters-Designated Development Track
This category is for persons whom Headquarters considers important to develop.
It may include candidates for Certified Instructor status or regional coordinators.
Candidates for examiners and research personnel may also be included.
Participation fees may be waived in whole or in part.

Participation in the Program does not itself constitute certification.
Separate examination is required for Certified qualifications and Certified Dan Rank.
Article 13 — Video Submission
Videos may be submitted for individual and small-group guidance.
As a general rule, each participant may submit one video per session.
Each video should normally be no longer than ten minutes.
The instructor may review the video in advance when necessary.
Extensive video analysis shall be discussed separately.
Article 14 — Coordination with the Digital Textbook
The Program shall be coordinated with the Digital Karate Budo Textbook.
Participants should not depend solely on online instruction.
Study the materials → Independent training → Guidance → Further training
This cycle develops the ability to learn independently.
It also allows online guidance time to be used effectively.
Article 15 — Application Procedure
- Consult with the affiliated organization or dojo.
- Inform Headquarters of the request to use the Program.
- Headquarters reviews the purpose and developmental need.
- The guidance category, schedule, and fee are determined.
- Guidance begins after approval by Headquarters.

Additional participants may not join without prior notice.
Any change in participant numbers must be reported in advance.
If the applicable category changes, the fee shall also change.

Article 17 — Recording and Publication
Participants must obtain permission from Headquarters before recording a session.
Unauthorized recording or publication is not permitted.
Headquarters may record sessions for instructional records.
Participants shall be informed in advance when such recording takes place.

The validity period may be extended in special circumstances.
Headquarters shall decide extensions on a case-by-case basis.
Article 19 — Cancellation and Schedule Changes
