IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI provides an Online Guidance Program for members of affiliated organizations and dojos. The Program supports continued learning and development.
The Program does not replace regular dojo instruction. It respects the independence of each organization. Participation requires review and approval by Headquarters.
1. What Is the Online Guidance Program?
The Online Guidance Program supports affiliated members. It provides additional learning opportunities. It may also support instructors and senior members.
Regular training at each dojo remains the foundation. The Program does not impose one training method. It provides support where further study is useful.
This is not an online karate school for the public. It is an educational support program for affiliates.
2. Purpose of the Program
Each organization has its own history and methods. Each dojo also has its own training system. IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI respects that independence.
The Program does not reject existing training systems. It supplements areas where support is useful. It also expands opportunities for continued study.
The Program also supports instructor development. Research and knowledge may be shared through it. The aim is to strengthen the affiliated network.
3. Who May Participate?
The Program is mainly for affiliated members. Affiliation alone does not guarantee eligibility. Headquarters reviews the purpose and need.
- Members seeking further technical development
- Members with limited access to direct instruction
- Members preparing to become instructors
- Members seeking Certified Instructor status
- Members preparing for Certified Dan Rank
- Members selected for further development
Eligibility is not based on rank or age alone. Training goals and circumstances are also reviewed. The affiliated instructor may be consulted.
4. Areas of Guidance
Guidance depends on each participant’s objectives. One curriculum is not imposed on everyone. Existing training methods are respected.
Technical Guidance
Guidance may cover basics, movement, kata, and kumite. Movement may be reviewed in detail. Training methods may then be suggested.
Kumite and Tactical Study
Posture, attacks, defense, and tactics may be studied. Training or competition footage may also be used. Individual styles are respected.
Instructor Development
Teaching methods and safety may be studied. Budo ethics may also be included. The aim is responsible and effective instruction.
Certification and Dan Rank Preparation
The Program may support certification preparation. It may also support Certified Dan Rank study. Participation itself does not grant certification.
Budo Theory and Riho
Guidance may extend beyond physical techniques. Riho and Takushin Budo may also be studied. Their practical use may also be explored.
5. Methods of Guidance
Online meeting systems may be used for instruction. Movement and training issues can be reviewed on video. Digital materials may also be used.
Training footage may be submitted in advance. The instructor may review it before the session. Training tasks may also be assigned.
Online guidance does not replace direct training. Direct instruction may be recommended when useful. Seminars may also be combined with the Program.
6. Digital Karate Budo Textbook
The Digital Karate Budo Textbook supports the Program. It can be used before and after each session. This encourages independent learning.
Online guidance should not become the only method. Independent study and training remain important. The basic learning cycle is shown below.
Study → Independent Training → Guidance → Further Training
This cycle helps deepen understanding. It also makes guidance time more effective.
7. Types of Online Guidance
Several forms of online guidance are available. The format depends on group size and purpose.
| Format | Participants | Standard Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Headquarters-Sponsored Joint Online Seminar | Multiple participants | 60–90 minutes |
| Individual Online Guidance | 1 participant | 60 minutes |
| Small-Group Online Guidance | 2–4 participants | 90 minutes |
| Organization-Exclusive Online Seminar | 5 or more participants | 90 minutes or more |
Joint seminars are generally free of charge. Other guidance formats have set fees. Please review the Program Regulations for details.
8. How to Participate
The process begins with your organization or dojo. Headquarters then reviews the purpose and need. Guidance starts only after approval.
STEP 1 — Consult Your Organization or Dojo
First, consult your instructor or organization. Explain why you would like additional guidance. Identify the main issues you wish to study.
STEP 2 — Contact Headquarters
Requests should normally come through your organization. Headquarters may also contact you directly if needed. You may begin with a consultation.
STEP 3 — Review the Purpose and Need
Headquarters reviews your current training needs. The proposed guidance is then considered. Your instructor may also be consulted.
STEP 4 — Confirm the Guidance Plan
The appropriate guidance format is selected. The schedule and content are then confirmed. Any applicable fee is explained in advance.
STEP 5 — Headquarters Approval
Participation requires approval by Headquarters. A request alone does not confirm participation. Approval follows the required review.
STEP 6 — Begin Online Guidance
Guidance begins after approval is complete. The content may change as training progresses. New training goals may also be established.
9. Fees
Fees depend on the type of guidance provided. They also depend on the regional category. Regions A, B, and C are used for this purpose.
Regional categories are not based on income alone. Local costs and exchange rates are also considered. The applicable fee is confirmed in advance.
10. Basic Policy of the Program
IBMA KYOKUSHIN KAI respects organizational independence. The Program follows the same principle. It does not impose one uniform training method.
Different experience and methods are respected. Additional learning opportunities are then provided. The purpose is development, not uniformity.
Online guidance also has practical limits. Regular dojo training remains important. Both forms of learning should support each other.
11. Consultation and Participation Requests
You may contact Headquarters before applying. You may also ask whether the Program is suitable. Participation requests use the same page.
Please consult your organization or dojo first. Headquarters will then review the request. Guidance begins only after approval.
